A group of animal rights activists have gathered outside Lismore Court House to protest against animal cruelty.

The protest coincides with a hearing within the Lismore Local Court over alleged mistreatment of horses at Rosebank.

The protesters are also unhappy about laws surrounding animal cruelty, which some argue require too great a burden-of-proof to properly enforce.
