Surferdude & Young Activist Rockin It For The Oceans
Sunshine Coast claims rights on some pretty awesum stuff...gorgeous weather, friendly people and stunning natural beauty. We now can holler that we also have two of the most inspirational young peeps in the country!
Ziggy Alberts & Jessica Abraham have worked for eight months organising "Rock the Oceans" an all ages benefit concert for Sea Shepherd, 18th August at Buderim Wanderers Club. Featuring Band of Frequencies, who already have a well known profile internationally, Jam Devers and the dude himself, Ziggy Alberts.
Jessica is a recognised animal rights activist and at 17, the youngest member of the Sunshine Coast Chapter of Sea Shepherd. Ziggy is 18 years old living in Coolum and is already a successful surfer, having some hardcore sponsors including Beck Surfboards, Agent Eighteen and Vanguard Fashion. He first picked up a guitar 19 months ago and has now released a 6 original song ep, played all over the Sunshine and Gold Coast and has just been announced to play his first festival, Golden Days 2012. Jess said "The concert is finally happening after persevering through eight months of knock-backs and silence from venues and businesses. I'm determined to see my own love and passion for the ocean mirrored in other people my age"
Doors will open at six with an open busking stage before the bands come
on. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at
www.greentix.com.au . More details
can be found on the events Facebook page.
