At 11:00am on the morning of November 14, incendiary
devices exploded under two vehicles at the University of Concepci�n. The
incident occurred in the parking lot outside an auditorium where an
"International Symposium on Biomedical Research Models" was taking
place. The event featured vivisectors from Chile, the United States and
other countries. One of the vehicles damaged is owned by a researcher

According to media reports, on August 8 a group of
people entered a research facility at Catholic University in downtown
Santiago and interrupted a course on laboratory animals. Windows were
broken, and animal liberation slogans were left behind on the walls.

The event followed a similar action on August 6 when a
group of people broke into an animal lab at the University of Chile,
also in Santiago.
On August 10, police closed roads surrounding Catholic
University following a bomb threat and the discovery of a suspicious
object.

"Rescue of a duck from a center of experimentation
On Thursday night, June 21, activists from Animal Libre
rescued a duck from a science lab in the Metropolitan Region, where they
have carried out experiments on animals since the 1960s and where tests
of various kinds are done, which in the words of the vivisectors
themselves (we learned in our investigation), "As an ethical issue they
can not be done to humans, due to their degree of cruelty." This led to
the Animal Libre rescue team to extend this ethical consideration to all

de Junio han efectuado el rescate de un pato desde un laboratorio de
ciencias de la Regi�n Metropolitana, el que realiza experimentos con
animales desde los a�os 60 y en donde se le hac�an pruebas de diferente
�ndole, que en palabras de los mismos vivisectores, luego de nuestra
investigaci�n: ''Por un tema �tico, no pueden hacerse en seres humanos,
por su grado de crueldad'' hecho que motiv� a que el equipo de rescate
de Animal Libre ampliara este car�cter �tico a todo individuo,
procurando terminar con el sufrimiento del animal apostado en ese lugar.
El pato al que hemos nombrado Andr�s, luego de sacarlo
del recept�culo de madera en el que se encontraba, fue llevado
inmediatamente a un veterinario el que cheque� su estado de salud
encontr�ndolo f�sicamente en buenas condiciones, para luego ser
trasladado a una parcela en donde vivir� el resto de sus d�as libre y
sin sufrimiento f�sico o psicol�gico. Hay que se�alar que estar� bajo
observaci�n veterinaria durante algunas semanas para asegurarnos de que
su salud sea �ptima.
Como Animal Libre hacemos un llamado a no olvidar a los
miles de esclavos torturados y en sufrimiento constante bajo premisas de
salud o belleza humana, investigaciones que perfectamente pueden ser

In the early morning hours of January 29, 2012, eight
EligeVeganismo [ChooseVeganism] activists entered a broiler
chicken farm south of Santiago to rescue nine individuals and take them
far away from the shed where they had been relegated and fattened for
the last three months. In the coming days, each one of them would have
been part of the 24,000 birds slaughtered per hour at this company.
At about five in the morning, activists entered the
breeding shed and put three females and six males who were ready to be
sent to slaughter in boxes and carried them to a home that they got to
know and explore in the early hours of the morning. A home where they
will live free and separate from any kind of human use.
The broiler chicken is a species traditionally bred for
consumption. The genetic modification of these birds is used as an
argument to justify the fact that they exist only to satisfy our eating
habits, ignoring the fact that-- just like any animal-- in each one of
them there exists the longing for freedom and the necessity of
satisfying their own interests.
The boxes that brought them there were abandoned and
they enjoyed the sun and exploring in the grass for the first time in
their lives. For many this may seem meaningless, but have you ever
thought about what those first moments of freedom mean to an oppressed
animal? Recognizing that there is a world beyond the monotonous
landscape of the breeding shed where they could barely move around?
The thousands of birds who share that space have become
a number. We will keep the memory of their faces and their desperation,
thus reaffirming our commitment to continue to carry out open rescues
which radically change the lives of more and more individuals, like all
types of actions that raise awareness about the urgent need for the
human species to take the interests of animals into account.
This was the largest open rescue by EligeVeganismo to
date and the first in South America of this species of bird: nine
stories began to be written on Jan. 29; spread the word and share. We
want to spread the message so that no one can evade the responsibility
of recognizing the faces of the individuals behind the product.

hogar donde vivir�n libres y ajenos a toda clase de utilizaci�n humana.
Los pollos broilers son una especie tradicionalmente
criada para consumo. Su modificaci�n gen�tica es uno de los argumentos
que suele darse a menudo para justificar su existencia solo a causa de
los h�bitos alimenticios de nuestra especie, ignorando que � al igual
que todo animal � habita en cada uno de ellos la b�squeda de libertad y
la necesidad de satisfacci�n hacia sus propios intereses.
Abandonaron las cajas que los trasladaron y disfrutaron
del sol y la exploraci�n en la hierba por primera vez en sus vidas. Para
cualquiera de nosotros esto puede carecer de sentido, pero �Has pensado
alguna vez lo que significa para un animal oprimido aqu�llos primeros
momentos de libertad?, �Reconocer un mundo m�s all� de los mon�tonos
paisajes del galp�n de crianza donde apenas pod�an moverse?.
Durante estos d�as, las miles de aves que compart�an su
espacio han pasado a ser una cifra. Nosotros guardaremos el recuerdo de
sus rostros y su desesperaci�n mientras ratificamos con ello nuestro
compromiso de continuar realizando rescates abiertos que permitan
cambiar radicalmente la vida de m�s y m�s individuos, as� como toda
clase de acci�n tendiente a concientizar sobre la urgente necesidad de
que los intereses de los animales sean tomados en cuenta por la especie
humana.
Este se constituye como el rescate a cara descubierta
m�s grande de EligeVeganismo a la fecha y el primero en sudam�rica de
