Oct. 16, '09 - 10 CHICKENS RESCUED FROM MEANINGLESS SUFFERING

open rescue (click here for additional photos):

"Ten chickens rescued from meaningless suffering and meaningless deaths. They were moved to a new, safe home. Ahead of them is not a long and full life, because their genoms were destroyed so that their bodies grow faster and bear more flesh and so that the business is more profitable. But despite of it, this way theyll be better off. They will learn what sun is and what fresh air is and what are people who do not see them as just meat and money. Spread the message."

June 29, 2009 -- 65 Hens Freed

Open rescue in memory of Gari Allen (click here for additional photos from the rescue):

"In June 2009, 65 hens were freed from unnecessary suffering and misery of battery cages. They were transffered to new, safe homes.

Animals are not gifts, neither is their rescue. Therefore not even this rescue is meant as a gift and is not dedicated to anyone. It is only related to the memory of a man who could do more than just saying nothing, moaning and crying.

On 16th of June 2006, after a short illness, Gari Allen died.

Gari Allen was an anarchist. He believed in direct action and the Animal Liberation Front. He took part in many sabotages and rescues from farms and laboratories, he also worked in shelters and sanctuaries. In the eighties and nineties he was imprisoned twice.

I remember. We remember."

reported on michalkolesar.net (click here for video and more photos from the rescue):

"In April 2009 there were 61 hens freed from battery cages and put in new, safe homes.
Animals are not a gift, neither is their rescue. Therefore not even this rescue is meant as a gift. It is only related to memory of a woman who did not want to just watch the useless pain and suffering of animals.
Fourteen years ago Jill Phipps died. It was Wednesday, 1st February of 1995. During a protest against transports of calves in Coventry, she stayed under the wheels of a truck which was loaded with these animals. She was 31.
I remember. We remember.
