THOUSANDS OF
MINK FREED FROM CAGES

Every single cage was opened at a mink farm near the
town of Assens on the evening of August 1. As many as 7,500 mink were
released. In addition, about 20 holes were cut in the fence surrounding
the farm.
Mink farmer Bjarne Jorgensen told TV 2/FYN, "It's the
worst nightmare one can imagine waking up to because what we have worked
toward for several years, someone has destroyed in a quarter or half an
hour."

200 MINK RELEASED
According to a report in Politiken
newspaper, in mid-April a mink farmer in northern Denmark interrupted
two individuals opening cages. The two escaped. 200 mink were released. October 10, 2009 -

Media in Denmark have reported that more than 10,000
mink were released from cages at Danish fur farms this week. During the
night of October 6, 6000 mink escaped from a farm near S�ndervig after
cages were opened and fences surrounding the property were destroyed.

March 25, 2009 -- Hundreds of Mink Run Free
According to media reports, approximately 1,400 mink were released from a fur
farm in Alslev (Denmark) during the night of March 24. Some of the mink have been spotted
several miles away from the farm, and several hundred mink have so far escaped
recapture.
