The anti-fur network Offensive gegen die Pelzindustrie has announced that three fur farms in Germany have closed down, farms that until recently imprisoned thousands of mink.

Among the farms was one near the city of Melle that was visited by the A.L.F. in January 2007 when hundreds of empty cages were destroyed. The farm never rebuilt following the action.

On September 11, fires destroyed a truck and damaged a refrigeration unit at a meat company in Hannover. Police estimated damages at 100,000 Euros.

The fires were the latest incident in Hannover that police suspect are linked to protests against construction of an animal testing laboratory by the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim.

According to media reports, on August 14 slingshots were used to punch holes in windows at city hall. "Purchased by Boehringer" was painted at the offices of the Social Democratic Party; slogans against the animal lab were also painted at Green Party offices and elsewhere in the city.

On August 12, 500 police officers, supported by helicopters and water cannon trucks, mobilized to remove several dozen protestors from buildings and trees at the site where Boehringer Ingelheim is planning to build its laboratory. The site had been occupied for several weeks by protestors.

In early August, a building at the nearby veterinary university was painted, and Hannover mayor Stefan Weil�s house was attacked with paint on July 28.

on june 27 2009 we liberated two foxes from a dachshund training compound. these compounds are spread all across germany (and other european countries). they encompass a fenced area with a system of concrete or wooden tubes dug into the ground through which the dachshund chases the fox. usually, there is an enclosure nearby where one or more foxes are kept. this is where they spend their miserable lives between each training session.

the purpose of these compounds is to train dachshunds and similar small hunting dogs (jack russel, parson russel terrier etc.) for the real thing: lair hunting. the hunters let their dogs into the lair, waiting for them to drive the foxes out of it where they are shot by the murderer scum.

the night of justice:
first we cut two padlocks on the fox enclosure with a boltcutter and opened all doors. we could see one fox staring at us, his eyes reflecting the light of our headlamps. then we spray-painted 'fox murderers' and 'alf' on the outer wall of a hut nearby. finally we stole 8 tube partitions and a transport box, spray-painted 'murderers' on the entrance gate for everyone to see and left.

we chose this date because there is lots of food and prey for foxes at this time which increases the chances for them to adjust quickly to their natural life. good luck, fellows!
