AHMEDABAD: Officials of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on Tuesday gave a written application to the police against animal rights activists for obstructing them and barging into their office.
The application was given after the activists allegedly barged into the AMC's Danilimda office and stopped officials from doing their duty. A formal complaint will be lodged in a couple of days.
AMC officials alleged that a dozen-odd persons led by Lisa Warden, who works on animal rights issues, entered the Danilimda office of the cattle nuisance control department. "The municipal officials said Warden, along with other group members, tried to snatch the large tongs and other equipment used to catch stray dogs," said a police official.
