Ireland Celebrities Support ARAN's Anti-Fur Campaign

Dear ARAN supporters,

She is one of Ireland's most recognised faces and a lady who possesses incredible talent. From winning the Eurovision to TV presenting, singing, acting, and, currently starring in sell-out Panto shows--Linda Martin--a big animal lover, kindly took time out of her busy schedule to kick-off the first in a series of top Irish celebrity ad campaigns exposing fur wearers and Ireland's fur farms.

During a photocall in Dublin on Monday morning, Linda unveiled her ad in which she holds her rescued dog 'Chilly Willy' who are cheek to cheek whilst Linda says, 'If you wouldn't wear your dog...please don't wear any fur'. Linda is specifically supporting ARAN's anti-fur campaign calling on people to open their eyes to the horrors and cruelty of the fur trade, and, is backing ARAN's call for the current government to push through, without delay, an agreed and proposed ban on Ireland's fur farms. This new ad campaign will feature a host of Ireland's most current, prominent and high-profile celebrities who are supporting our efforts, further ad's will be unveiled through the year. This is not the first time Linda supported ARAN's campaigns. In 2009, she led ARAN supporters during a demonstration with various other Irish celebrities outside of the Canadian embassy calling on their government to stop Canada's seal slaughter. Linda has also backed ARAN's spay & neutering campaigns.

Press Coverage: Breaking the campaign was the News of the World Sunday paper, which gave an exclusive on Linda's ad. Linda also appeared on Ireland's only morning television breakfast show on TV3, where she spoke passionately about the killing of animals for their skins and ARAN's work, click here to see the interesting interview. Linda also appeared on Ireland's City Channel TV to again speak about ARAN's anti-fur campaign. National newspapers such as The Irish Sun, Irish Star, Irish Mirror, Evening Herald also covered the ad. Beat 103FM Interviewed Linda about the ad too--this impressive press coverage yet again exposes cruelty to animals, creates awareness and encourages people to take action. Watch some footage of the photocall starting off yesterday in Dublin's St Stephen's Green, with Linda posing with a beautiful rescued dog, click here.

Thank you for all you do to help animals, and, your ongoing support,
