Protesters in Australia and the Philippines are calling for an end to Japan's hunting of dolphins.

Animal welfare groups the world over are observing "International Japan Dolphin Day" on September 1 to coincide with the first day of the dolphin hunting season.

In Sydney a group of people are gathered outside the Japanese embassy to urge Japan to call off the hunt.
