(Pakistan) Exhibition Highlights Animals' Rights

Lahore - Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in collaboration with the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences

Lahore organised an exhibition to highlight different aspects of cruelty to and care of animals here on the city campus of UVAS on Tuesday.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Punjab Secretary Livestock and dairy development Jehanzeb Khan called for creating awareness about animal rights and their welfare. He said a coalition of animal lovers line should be formed to work collectively for their welfare and sought suggestions to amend laws to prevent cruelty to animals.

The secretary asked SPCA to come up with a plan of action for the year \line 2009 and assured that government would support the organisation's efforts.
