BUTCHER SHOP VAN
DESTROYED
anonymous report, from
La Haine (translation):
"On this cold morning a delivery van of the 'MB' butcher shop in
Carabanchel was totally burned.
What better time than now and what better place than here. We
can not wait any longer, our lives are adrift, the violence and exploitation
that we suffer daily has reached an unexpected extreme. We refuse to accept this
imposition, this technological dictatorship. We do not ask for anything. We
chose to act for ourselves, without delegating, without looking for respect or
admiration from anyone. we reject the vanguard because we do not speak for
anyone else, our words are spoken with fire. It's time to take to the streets.
Times are tough, that's true, but nobody said that it would be easy. All forces
and energies are needed to break this techno-industrial system through words,
stones, letters, fire, struggle....
Those who base their lives on exploiting animals (human and
nonhuman) deserve the worst outcome.
To our brothers imprisoned behind bars and in cages
until all are free!

Que mejor momento que ahora y que mejor lugar que aqui. No
No pedimos nada

MINK LIBERATION
DEDICATED TO BARRY HORNE
anonymous report (translation):
"On November 3, 2010 we
approached the mink farm located in Albalate del Arzobispo, in Teruel.
It will soon be the time when these animals are killed to be made
into coats. In a society in which speciesism is so ingrained we thought
it was necessary to act and try to provide these individuals with an
opportunity, and at the same time raise awareness of their situation.
We opened all the cages that contained mink, and roughly 200 were
able to run free and try to find a way to escape the horrible fate that
awaited them if they remained within the farm.
This action was
taken two days before the anniversary of the death of Barry Horne, to
whom we want to dedicate this liberation. His struggle remains in our
memories and our hearts."

OPEN RESCUE OF
FIVE HENS
Igualdad Animal / Animal Equality news release (photo
gallery):
"Animal Equality activists have rescued five hens from a
farm containing 160,000 animals on Monday 16 September.
After entering one of the sheds via an unlocked door and
without having to use any type of force, the activists removed five
hens, who were later examined by a vet. One of them had to be operated
on to remove a huge mass from her head resulting from a an old eye
infection. Another hen is currently receiving veterinary treatment but
is out of danger.
These animals were being subjected to a process called a
forced molt, in which through severe food restriction - including going
for days without eating - and in total darkness, their bodies are
shocked into a new cycle of egg-laying.
These one-and-a-half-year-old animals have spent the
last eleven months trapped behind bars without being able to see the
sun. They are suffering from various nutritional deficiencies and some
of them also have liver damage due to the high protein content of their
food which is given in order to increase the weight of their eggs.
The Animal Equality Open Rescue Team has recorded these
images because we believe it is essential that society has access to
what happens inside places like these so they have the ability to think
about how the animals must feel.
This rescue was carried out on a farm with battery cages
similar to the 'enriched cages' which will obligatory from 2012 onwards
throughout the European Union. Nevertheless, on 'free-range' farms, hens
are still deprived of their freedom and used as mere resources for human
benefit, and finally all of them are sent to the slaughterhouse at a
fraction of their natural lifespan.
In Spain, more than 47 million hens are victims of this
system which exists to satisfy the demand for eggs. Eggs that we do not
even need. Another 47 million male chicks - their brothers - are also
victims of this consumption. Often forgotten they do not even register
in official statistics. On every type of farm, male chicks are killed,
either ground up alive or gassed, because they do not lay eggs and they
are not profitable for any other purpose.
Animal Equality rescues animals not only to help these
particular individuals, but also to get society to reflect and stop
seeing the other animals with which we share the planet as being at our
disposal, as resources we can make a profit from. As in all open
rescues we carry out, we always come away filled with a sensation of
sadness and impotence when we have to close the door and leave behind
the thousands of other animals who will suffer their whole lives only to
end up with their throats slit in a slaughterhouse. We are simply
unable to rescue all the animals on farms, in slaughterhouses, or
laboratories. Ending this ongoing animal holocaust depends on each one
of us, it depends on removing our financial support from all of it, in
all its forms.
Living as vegans means we free those animals who were
going to be forced to suffer and die for our demands, and builds a base
of support for a world that is more equal for all, regardless of the
species we belong to.
Towards the abolition of animal slavery.

LIBERATION OF
MINK INTERRUPTED BY FARMER
anonymous communique (translation):
"Early Saturday morning, Oct. 23, animal rights
activists entered a mink farm in the town of Abegondo in Galicia to put
an end to the animals exploitation.
Motivated by the investigation recently released in the
media that shows the hell that these animals are subjected to we felt
obligated to take sides and to stand in solidarity with them.
When a large portion of the cages were already open the
farmer arrived unexpectedly, interrupting the liberation and we were
forced to escape without being able to help all the animals.
Our struggle will not end as long as animals are being
exploited. We oppose animal exploitation in all its forms and we believe
that adopting a vegan lifestyle that respects animals is essential.
There are many ways you can help animals, it doesn't
depend on anyone but yourself.
Against speciesism, for animal liberation."

Nuestra lucha no acabar mientras haya animales
explotados.

PHOTOS RELEASED
FROM BATTERY HEN RESCUE

received anonymously (translation):
"The night of 5 October a group of vegan activists
entered a battery hen farm located in Asturias and we rescued 22 of
them. They were almost completely featherless due to the conditions in
which they lived. Now the 22 chickens are safe from their exploiter and
are recovering, both physically and psychologically, in freedom.
This communique is not intended to open the welfarist debate about
whether or not battery cages are ethically justifiable. We want to
revive the debate about animal exploitation itself, to discuss the fact
that non-human animals, due to the simple fact of not belonging to our
species, are considered resources. This occurs on all farms (battery and
free range) and in all slaughterhouses.
Finally we want to
dedicate this action to our Mexican comrades in prison or on the run (Braulio,
Adrian, Abraham, etc.). We want to tell you that even though an ocean
separates us, we are with you.
For animal liberation."

HOME VISIT FOR
NOVARTIS DIRECTOR
received anonymously:
"Last week we visited the house of Montserrat Ferrn
Tarrs, one of the directors of Novartis Spain. We went to her home in
Barcelona (Montserrat Ferrn Tarrs Passeig Fabra i Puig 17 2 2),
glued the entrance lock, threw four paint bombs and left a painting
saying: 'Montserrat Ferrn Tarrs tortures animals. Novartis=HLS'
With this action we tried to unmask Tarrs, who as a director of
Novartis is responsible for the torture and death of thousands of
animals.
Don't wait until others do it, do it yourself, you make
the difference. Until we all are free."

A BIKE RIDE & A RESCUED HEN

translation of anonymous report (click

"Riding my bike in the southeast of Madrid I discovered several
trucks with cages in the parking lot of a bird slaughterhouse. As the gate was
open I decided to take a look and discovered that some birds had fallen to the
ground and the workers had forgotten about them. There were around 10 in a ditch
where the mechanics fix the trucks. I could only take one with some difficulty,
and it was with difficulty that I got a cloth bag to bring her to Madrid on my
bike. It gave me much pain to leave all the others there. They were laying hens
who had lived all their lives in cages and since they were producing less they
were murdered. We are going to give her a home where she will be happy. I no
longer eat eggs and this makes me happy as I do not want to collaborate with
this savagery.

ATTACK ON PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY ACADEMY
reported anonymously (translation):
"In the early morning hours a fire was started at the front door
of the EPHOS academy (www.ephos.es), a place of learning for future murderers.
In this school they teach the future leaders of pharmaceutical companies to kill
our animal brother and sisters and the earth without mercy. 'Here the land is
devastated and animals murdered' was written on the walls.
Our lesson for them is that there is no place for them. We will
attack them mercilessly. The earth devastated, our minds wiped out ... and we
fight amongst ourselves for a larger piece of this absurd pie (increased wages,
reduced working hours, better labor contracts...). We do not believe in the
crisis because we have been in crisis since our birth: indoctrinated in the
schools and in the family, exploited at work and murdered in the hospitals or in
jail.
Our crisis is the lack of freedom, it is not the lack of money or of
possessions, because these are what we want to destroy.

TRUCKS AT MEAT DISTRIBUTOR VANDALIZED
received anonymously (translation):
"On the night of May 29, 2010, we carried out what was
for each of us our first direct action. The target was a meat
distribution company located in Gava, Barcelona. With a little fear and
nervousness we approached it with our faces covered. When we were facing
it, you could see in the eyes of my comrades that the idea of abandoning
the plan was running through their minds; that was in my thoughts as
well. But we did not give up. We jumped the wall that separated us from
the reality of animal exploitation and we moved into action. We
punctured 7 tires on the two vehicles that were on the premises and we
painted the symbol of the FLA on the back of the truck and on the hood
of the cab.
Then we took off. On that night we had only planned
that target but upon seeing the results of our first experience we
headed to another meat company which was close by. We again jumped the
wall and this time we punctured three tires on three trucks and again
signed the symbol of the FLA.

ALARM
SIDESTEPPED, CAGES OPENED AT MINK FARM

Farm owner Juan Benito Toms explains how cages were
opened at his farm (photo by A. RIVERA/Heraldo.es).
According to media reports, 126 mink were released from
cages at a fur farm in Albalate del Arzobispo (Teruel) on Tuesday night,
March 16.
The farm owner explained that a wire fence was cut to
gain access to the farm, and then instead of entering through the front
door of the shed, which was protected by an alarm, corrugated iron
sheets that served as walls were removed from the sheds.
Most, but not all, of the mink have been recaptured.
The owner said that there have been seven incidents of
theft and vandalism at the farm since he started it in 2002, but this
was the first liberation.

PROCTER &
GAMBLE PRODUCT TAMPERING
reported anonymously:
"Anonymous group claims tampering of Procter and Gamble products
in Madrid, Spain
A month ago the newspaper El Pas received an anonymous phone
call from the spokesperson of an anonymous group claiming the tampering of
bottles of 'Head and shoulders' (Procter and Gamble product) shampoo. In that
same phone call, the spokesperson said this kind of action would continue if
Procter and Gamble didn't stop testing on animals.

Liberacin animal"
