The first ever Veggie Fair in Sweden has been hailed as a great success by the organisers of the event.

For the first time, a Veggie Fair has been organised in Stockholm, Sweden, on June 2nd. The Veggie Fair 2007 in Sweden turned out to be a great success. The organisers of the Fair had expected 600 people to attend the event but well over that figure attended the event with an estimated 1700 people coming to the event. The event provided food, cakes, talks, film-viewings and information on animal rights.

Organisers of the Fair have described the event as "a taste of what the future holds for everyone interested in a cruelty-free lifestyle. The film and lecture rooms were packed with people . . . actually the whole fair was packed! This was the first ever Veggie Fair organised by the grassroots animal rights group 'Djurrattsalliansen'.
