"Slar lskar havet", "Vi vill simma fritt - slarna", "Pelikaner vill leva fritt!", "Pingviner lskar havet" och "ledsna djur = nje?" sprejades lngs fngelsets gra vggar. - DBF

October 29, 2007 -- More Mink Run Free!

Swedish radio has reported that holes were cut in fences and 3000 mink released from a farm in Skara.

October 27, 2007 -- Recaptured Mink Given a Second Chance

anonymous communique received by activists in Sweden:

"5 weeks ago we read in the media about the raid against the mink farm in Hrryda and that it had been emptied of all animals. Unfortunately it could also be read that about half of the mink were recaptured. Because of that we decided to take responsibility because every individual deserves a second chance. On the night to October 26th the farm was visited again and the first thing we saw was a trap with a mink captured in it, but it was released and the trap destroyed.

After that the cages for 600-700 mink were opened and we also found 100 ferrets at the farm and they were also released. All breeding cards were taken and the slogan 'Everyone wants to live' was sprayed before all traps were destroyed to avoid the need for a third visit.
- DBF"

October 15, 2007 -- 102 Hens Liberated

The Swedish ALF liberated 102 hens on the 10th of October. The farm that was hit, Aniagra, outside Helsingborg, was struck a few months ago.

Swedish communique:

Frsk sjlv att stta dig in i hnans situation.

Hur hade ni trivts i burarna?

Tills alla djur r fria!

October 10, 2007 -- 800 Mink Free

reported anonymously:

"In Hemingsbo just outside Falun (Sweden), the last fur farm in the region Dalarna is located. A farm with small cages and a standing example how the animal welfare laws are constantly ignored. Since 1988 the mink have been guaranteed to behave naturally. But after the politicians betrayal last year about a ban on fur farms there are still 1,5 million mink behind bars. On the night to tuesday around 800 mink finally got to taste freedom when the cages was opened. The slogan 'Fur farm ban introduced' was sprayed on a roof of a shed at the farm. From October 9th 2007 there is a fur farm ban in Dalarna introduced by the only ones the animals can have confidence in - DBF (ALF). With bolt cutters and crow bars we make sure it remains. Always for the animals - DBF"

Swedish communique:
"I Hemingsbo strax utanfr Falun ligger Dalarnas sista plsdjursfarm. Alltid fr djuren. - DBF"

recent actions reported on djurens befrielsefront.com:

"Oct 7th - Stockholm. Nothing can ever stop the DBF's determination to wipe out the fur shops in Stockholm. The fur shop Lindskog has hired security and installed alarm systems but that didn't stop activists from emptying a spray can on the newly painted facade. The struggle continues! - DBF

All 16 windows was attacked together with their door bell and intercom system. No gratitude from the shop owners is expected, but the minks gratitude will be enough. - DBF

July 11, 2007 -- 128 Hens Liberated

anonymous communique received by activists in Sweden:

"During Monday, July 9th, the Swedish record in the liberation of hens was broken. 128 hens were saved from the cages at Aniagra and they will now start their new lives with people that care about them.
They were born without hope, but they have been given new lives and will never again be forced into cages. Animal liberation lives in every animal saved, in every step forward that are secured and in every human that stands up and says: this is it, I had enough of it!

The facility, outside Helsingborg, is the largest in Sweden and keeps 145,000 hens in small cages. Aniangra has been criticized for a long time for keeping hens in illegal cages and the new ones are hardly an improvement from an animal welfare point of view. A stick to sit on, a few plastic pieces forming a so-called nest and a small sandbath don't give the hens a good life. They want to be out in the sun, take a sandbath in freedom and reach out their wings. They have the right to live their lives in freedom, not to be locked inside a cage to be killed when they don't produce enough.

This action was carried out to save the lives of 128 wonderful individuals, but was at the same time a protest against the system and the way we look at animals that allows them to be captive and humiliated for profit.

There might be lots of things that separate us, but the things that we have in common, our ability to feel pain and our will to live our lives in peace gives us a duty to treat all living with respect. The same duty and the same respect forced us to break the law yesterday to save the hens. They would not stand a chance to be freed if it was not for some to break those doors to steal their freedom.

It is very likely the owners have not found out about the burglary in shed 8 yet. Everything in the shed is run automatically: feeding, cleaning and the collecting of the eggs. They are visited every now and then, and according to protocols, several dead hens are always found. During the raid the cages were inspected and lots of dead hens were found.

The egg industry is a mockery to the animal welfare laws and a heavy insult of animal rights. Djurens Befrielsefront (ALF) will never sit still and watch when animals are humiliated in the most disgusting ways. The resistance has begun, the limits are passed.

Djurens Befrielsefront"

It's always right to do what is right"
-Martin Luther King
