Taiwan's Ban trapping bill

"Taiwan's Ban trapping bill, introduced by legislator Ting Shou Chung, passed on June 13, 2011 at Taiwan's legislative Yuan. The Bill, an amendment of Taiwan's Animal protection Law, says: "It is illegal to manufacture, produce, display, sale, use or import any type of leg hold trap without permit from the central government." Please see the website below in Chinese of the campaign history and the new law:

The success of this ban trapping campaign was achieved by a joint effort of Taiwan's animal protection groups such as the Life Conservationist Association and Kaohsiung Concern Stray Animal Association, along with the international campaign led by PETA Asia.
