Five animal rights campaigners have been accused of causing distress to members of the public by displaying a picture of a monkey with the top of its skull sawn off.

Four women and a man are alleged to have had the picture of the monkey with wires protruding from its exposed brain in Blackpool on March 25.

Their case was adjourned to March 19 by Blackpool Magistrates for trial.
