Lord Home was entertaining friends at his country mansion, almost certainly before a day of grouse shooting. The car presumed to belong to Home's housekeeper was left untouched.

Media has reported that the Animal Liberation Front claimed responsibility for damaging netting under a bridge in the village of Fetcham (Surrey, England). In a phone call to a local newspaper, the ALF explained that the action was necessary to free pigeons who were trapped under the netting.

AN ANIMAL rights organisation has claimed it has freed pigeons that were trapped by netting under a railway bridge.
Last month the Advertiser reported that pigeons had been trapped by netting under the bridge in Guildford Road, Fetcham, and that some of them had subsequently died.
As a result the paper received letters sympathising with their plight and condemning the actions of the council which is responsible for maintaining the pigeon-proofing.
But the controversy reached a new level on Monday when the Advertiser received an anonymous call from a man claiming to be from the Animal Liberation Front an organisation that often uses illegal methods to free animals it believes are being treated cruelly.
He said: "The netting has been cut down and the Animal Liberation Front is claiming responsibility.
"We will be watching who puts it [the netting] back up because two organisations were denying responsibility.
"When we find out which one, they will be dealt with accordingly."
He also claimed that the group had freed the pigeons that were trapped under the netting.
Josie Hinchey, of Fetcham, had originally informed the Advertiser of the plight of the pigeons but says she does not approve of these methods.
She said: "I don't want people like that getting involved because that is not the way we want it done.
"We want it done in the right way and that it isn't vandalism because it won't do anyone any good."
Mole Valley District Council confirmed that the netting had been damaged. A spokeswoman said: "A site visit carried out on July 6 revealed that there was a small section of netting which was previously connected to the upper part of the railway bridge parapet wall which is now disconnected.
"Notwithstanding this small amount of damage then the rest of the proofing has not been touched."
The council spokeswoman also denied the fact that the birds were trapped, adding: "The contractors recently attended the site at 4am to observe the pigeons.
"It was found that there are birds sitting on eggs and also young birds present, which eliminates the possibility that the birds are trapped."

A dark night in April saw several people descend onto a south-western animal breeding farm. At the back of this farm, piles of dead lambs bodies were rotting, and mothers lay in narrow pens, raped and impregnated. One female sheep was tied around her face onto the bars in front of her, forcing her to stand and not being able to move more than a few inches.

Several lambs had been taken from their mothers and kept in a metal pen ready for the fate man decided for them. We decided to change their fate that night. Instead of feeling the cold hands of the farmer, they felt us lift them to liberation. After taking these beautiful lambs to safety, we disappeared back into the night. We also released a wild bird from the farm that had been caught in a trap.

Some of the lambs were playing and cuddling with us on our journey, sitting in our laps while we stroked and held them. For the first time since their mothers were taken away, they could feel love and compassion. We had given back to them what greedy humans had so desperately tried to take: their lives.

April 8, 2009 -- G20 Report from Veganarchists

communiqu' from some veganarchists on the G20 riots and resistance:

"As veganarchists, we show solidarity with fellow anarchists (green, red, purple, pink or otherwise), and all the radicals and militants who shunned pacifism for a productive day of direct action against the G20 in London.

The day of mass actions began with mass kettles. For the marches opposing climate chaos, borders and the economy; activists were beaten if attempting to leave and told of no reason for being held. These are standard police state tactics, using violence to protect corporate assets, whilst attempting to contain those expressing desire to revolt.

It could well of ended as it started; the people's anger pacified and made ineffective against the human, white, male supremacists. You know, those bastard elites who rule our planet and oppress the population that inhabit it. Fortunately, this was not to be. The animal instinct known as self-defense was applied allowing for social war in London to become yet again recognized as an ongoing battle against the state and its capital. Thank fuck we didn't take their shit any longer.

RBS was the first bank to fall into the hands of angry anarchists on the green march. Windows were smashed, walls were painted 'class war', 'thieves', 'burn a banker', '@', amongst many other slogans. Furniture, computers, phones and other equipment were trashed and used as ammunition, smashing more windows, as cops plotted not knowing what to do. They must of thought we were joking when we said 'Storm the Banks' ' as others climbed in painting walls and burning blinds. A petrol bomb was finally thrown in, but unfortunately failed to ignite.

Cops are common scum who live by authority, on the contrary we act independently as covert cells. This is why we will always win in these situations, and they will always loose.

Blocs continued to push, dismantle and dismember police pens, as we refused to act like domesticated creatures that become slaves to their masters. Many times cops were surrounded and paid the price for the violence they initiated. Injuries were sustained on both sides as we eventually got to the core of the city. It was then attacked by the masses.

Down at the exchange, HSBC was smashed and slogans were painted all around the area as we began to take back the streets. For hours the police lines were penetrated, breaking out to further areas of the city, as an anarchist flag waved high from a flagpole.

What went wrong then? We didn't all continue to resist. As the evening approached, agitation, fear and anxiety became the illness that infected many of our number. Some dispersed as others continued to resist.

As many pens closed in despair settled on the streets. Countless white, middle class pacifists and their supporters released frustration and energy to the ground in front of the fascist police, creating a brief and temporary standoff. This was clearly regretted by many, as police batons continued to wave against protesters in other corners of the pen who refused to submit to violence.

So we continued to riot against the police, with another wave of dissent. Barriers were dismantled and thrown at cops, injuring some more fascist scum, with surges against the lines creating small gaps. A banker effigy was then burned from a traffic light, using a leg to set a cop on fire (apologies for no picture). As we nearly got out after increasing the offensive, the police did the same, which was taken by many by surprise. 'Flighting' became the norm as fighting disappeared from the fear and panic in the air, at the same time police eventually began releasing people one by one.

Unlike our fellow comrades kettled at the Bank of England, the majority of our number were merely 'spot checked' through a FIT parade as we were released back onto the streets, instead of stop, searched and harassed for our personal details by the Forward Intelligence Team.

This is an example of why we resist ' because we are not just a number. We may not of entirely 'broken the spell' like in Seattle, but we got very close. If it weren't for our mistakes - backing down - that bleak time when we failed to make plans, we would of taken back part of the city for much longer. In time, we will destroy every aspect of this brutal civilisation.

Despite what our oppressors spew out through the media, the majority of arrests were made on the 2nd, not the 1st, which took place at the G20 Convergence Center and RampArt. More activists would have found themselves in cages that night if it weren't for the continued resistance when kettled under pressure from thugs with battons.

In memory of Ian Tomlinson who had a heart attack and died because police initially refused to help and release him from a kettle.

February 13, 2009 -- Abused Hens Rescued from "Free Range" Farm

"On a recent evening, a visit was paid to the Yorkshire Farmhouse free range and organic egg business. As people know this sector operates in a similar way to it's sister factory farming industry. Male chicks are slaughtered at birth. 'Flock depletion' takes place after the hens have lived only around 10% of their so called natural lifetimes due to diminishing returns from each laying hen. They are then sent to the same slaughterhouses as factory farmed birds and their lives taken.

Of course these places aren't quite so bad as the massive sheds where hens are locked up 24 hours a day. But the pictures that entice the moralistic egg eating crusaders on the front of the packs, are indeed just one side of this gruesome industry, happily supported by vegetarians. Who by supporting these companies, are essentially eating the flesh straight off the bones of these hens.

When we arrived at the targetted barn, we immediately rescued a hen that had been shut out for the night and left to fend for itself among the foxes. After forcing entry we proceeded through the entranceway and into the main body of the building. Here we could see hens as far as our torches could travel tightly packed into the space, and sitting on iron bars just a metre above the shit pit. We could identify that many of the birds had few neck feathers, and also few wing feathers, as well as having been debeaked.

We proceeded to take a hen for each of the animal rights prisoners incarcerated in jail, and then we took some more. After retrieving them, we looked to the thousands of eggs stacked in the entranceway, and began smashing them. The hens that we took have been found new homes.

It's time to stop believing in the ethical myths of the organic and free range animal industries.
