At Sussex County bear hunt, same AR protester is arrested for second straight year

FRANKLIN -- A veteran animal rights activist was arrested today after
refusing to move from the front of a Sussex County black bear weigh-in
station on Route 23, in a move he described as being an act of civil
disobedience.

With a handmade sign reading "Mother Nature is Crying" dangling from
his neck, Bill Crain of Manhattan, a psychology professor at City
College of New York, was arrested by Franklin police officers next to
the northbound lane of the state highway. Crain was also arrested on
the first day of the bear hunt last year at the Whitingham Wildlife
Management Area in Fredon and during the first day of the 2005 bear
hunt.
