July 2008 SAN DIEGO--A San Diego man who threatened an animal-rights activist has been sentenced to five years of probation. Kent Trego was sentenced Monday in federal court. According to prosecutors, the 54-year-old was with two scuba divers when they disturbed a pod of seals on a La Jolla beach in September. Trego pleaded guilty in April to sending an e-mail to the activist after she videotaped people dressed in scuba gear apparently harassing the seals. Trego threatened revenge from biker gangs and suggested the activist may be killed. -- full story: http://www.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_9811853
