Hunters armed with rifles and hopes of bagging a bear converged on the northwest
region of the state yesterday one Day One of the bear hunt.
And so did the protesters.
At least one person was arrested yesterday for demonstrating in a non-designated
area. Bill Craine, who told the Star-Ledger he was a professor of psychology at
the City University of New York said "We have to respect their right to live,"
as he was handcuffed and moved into a State Police car.
