The A.L.F. kicked off World Week a bit early this year with the liberation of 116 animals from labs at the University of Minnesota. University officials estimate their financial losses from this raid to be in the millions of dollars. Minnesota television stations are hosting an online discussion and poll about the action.

SUE McCROSKY JAILED, DENIED MEDICATION!

Veteran activist Sue McCrosky was jailed on March 31st to complete her 6 month sentence in Dekalb County jail for her part in protesting the torture of primates at Yerkes in 1997. Jail officials are continuing to deny her vegan food and her needed medication, thus placing her life in danger.


MILITANT BAKER DOWN TO 113 POUNDS!

ARDAC member, IDA employee and long-time activist Gerard Livenois is serving 6 months for concurrent sentences for pieing the mayor of San Francisco and for an anti-vivisection protest. At five foot eight and already down to 113 pounds, Gerry will not be able to survive until his release date of July 4th, unless we can convince the city to provide him a vegan diet.
