Help Chained Dogs Anonymously

In a message dated 2/1/2007 8:13:11 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, phhaddock@comcast.net writes: I wanted to make sure everyone knows about this fantastic Valentine's Day campaign by Dogs Deserve Better, the pioneering leader in the movement to free dogs from a life on chains.... http://network.bestfriends.org/educators/news/10746.html

Just email them the address of any dog in your town that you see is forced to live his or her life out on a chain.....DDB will send the people a charming, hand-made Valentine (made by kids!) that basically says "Please take me off this chain - it's no fun to live this way."

Plus a coupon for dog treats, and a brochure from DDB about the reasons dogs should live inside. You remain anonymous. Last year over 4,500 Valentines were delivered to chained or penned dogs....the goal this year is 8000. Many dogs are freed from their chains as a result... Addresses are especially needed..... Please forward and cross post.

Thanks, Patricia Haddock

I no longer use language that accepts the current concept of animals as property, commodities and/or things.

Rather than refer to myself and others as "owners" of animals, I now refer to myself and others as "guardians" of our animal companions and to animals as "he" or "she" rather than "it". I urge you to do the same.
