About forty protestors demonstrated in Hallandale last night to voice their anger that Michael Vick was in town. Vick, a former NFL player and quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, was arrested and charged with animal cruelty, racketeering and gambling when his dog fighting operation, Bad Newz Kennels, was discovered in June, 2007.
Vick was in South Florida to host a party for over 2,000 attendees in Miami last night, Friday, May 28, 2010.
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) End Dog Fighting Campaign has sponsored Vick’s speaking tour around the country where he tells high school students about his fall from grace and that they should not be like him. Most recently in Chicago on March 26, 2010, he has also appeared in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Newark and Baltimore, among others.
