Religion and Animals i recently read the article "God 2 Noah" and had a number of questions. Firstly, How can one explain the section in Acts where God tells Peter to eat of all the animals in creation? This is not God giving in to human selfishness but a clear move from the old testament ceremonial laws. A scriptural view of God means that He is unchanging and so to say that He was reacting to humans selfishness is to remove one of His greatest attributes, omniscience. Secondly, God calls for animal sacrifices throughout the old testament, and this involved a ritualised method of killing, e.g. bird having their necks ringed and broken apart at the wing. Modern methods of killing animals are far more humane and so to claim that there is great suffering in slaughterhouses means that God commanded that His creation be treated in a despicable manner.
