In the United States undercover footage was made at the largest kosher slaughter house in the country, which show the horrific conditions:

For decades scientific research has existed, which shows indisputably that animals suffer severe pain and stress during ritual slaughter without stunning. The Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) also rejects slaughter without stunning on these grounds:

In various countries like Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Iceland and Switzerland religious slaughter without stunning has been banned.
