If youve been amazed lately at how real they can make faux fur, there
may be another explanation: the Humane Society of the United States
today
filed a legal petition with the Federal Trade Commission
alleging that 11
retailers have falsely labeled or advertised fur
fashions as being faux
fur.
The Humane Society says Barneys, Neiman Marcus, Gilt, Revolve
Clothing, Yoox and other online retailers have listed real fur apparel
as
faux fur on their websites. The non-profit animal protection
agency sent
the garments for laboratory testing to identify the fur on
garments from
brands including Woolrich, Mackage, Stuart Weitzman, and
Marc by Marc.
