Richard Pryor -- Testimonial

On Saturday, December 10, 2005, the animals and the earth lost a friend and a champion. We, at Win Animal Rights, hold a special place in our hearts for Richard Pryor because he lived his life much the way we try to run our campaigns. Edgy, brash, militant, in your face and not afraid to push the envelope.

Richard and his wife, Jennifer Lee, are supporters of the SHAC campaign to close down Huntingdon Life Sciences. Matter of fact, the Summer of 2004 issue of the Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty newsletter, featured a guest editorial pledging their support. In part, it read
"...Richard and I were drawn to SHAC because of its independence, its level of commitment, and because it speaks to an absolute determination inside of us to express our humanity. As Americans, we enjoy the freedom of speech and have a responsibility to use that freedom on behalf of those who cannot speak for themselves: ANIMALS. This isn't the land of the free while the needless abuse and torturing of animals continues!..."

The editorial concludes with the following: "....Kevin and SHAC's soldiers, with courage and deep conviction, fight the terrorism that is being waged on these innocent and beautiful souls. Richard and I have been recruited and ask you to join us in this crusade for animal liberation. Close down the Motherfuckers!!"Richard & Jennifer Lee Pryor.

We ask you not to mourn Richard Pryor's death; but, rather to celebrate his life. Our challenge for you today is to do something special for someone in need. Following is a list of some ideas. Feed a homeless cat or dog, adopt an animal from the shelter, give blood, donate a toy for a child, donate a coat to a homeless shelter, volunteer to walk the dogs or feed the cats at your local shelter, spend quality time with a child in your life, spend quality time with a companion animal in your life, visit an elderly relative, bake someone cookies, make a donation to charity or animal advocacy group, write a letter to a political get the idea, right?

Dedicate your act of kindness to the memory of Richard Pryor. If you wish, you can send us an e-mail, letting us know what you did and we will forward your e-mail to Jennifer Lee Pryor. We're sure she will appreciate the messages of support. E-mail:

One last thing you can do to honor Richard's memory. Join us in our battle to close Huntingdon Life Sciences. Let's
"...close down the motherfuckers!!!..."
