Oct 10, 2006 Last year during Hurricane Katrina you know we saved over 51 dogs lives that were left to die. A year later many of our Katrina dogs and our local rescued pets are wondering when they too may find their forever loving homes. Recently, you may have seen the news reports, many people say they are now looking for their Katrina pets and are suing small rescue groups that helped these poor starving animals find a safe haven. Most organizations have adopted out their Katrina animals or many have died from heartworm, cancer and other toxic poisonings from the dirty waters. Many were euthanized in America's over crowded shelters. Our tiny group of volunteers worked overtime day and night to reunite these animals to their familes. Our "lucky 3" were returned to their owners. Sadly, the rest were surrendered to our care. I have cared for our rescues to the point of exhaustion and am pleading for your help.
