I recently read the book, "Dead Meat" by Sue Coe and it broke my heart. I have rescued homeless animals all my life and have always tried to do everything I could for them. Somehow, I got the impression that conditions in the slaughter houses had improved.  That doesn't seem to be the case.  Can you tell me what is being done for those suffering creatures?  If we wait for the world to become vegetarian before things improve, that day will never come or, it will be so long in coming, mankind will have done himself in by then. Please reply. I am deeply concerned.  If I could, I would put a copy of Sue Coe's book in every home in America.
